As avid readers ourselves, we all know that or first writing priority for fans is “Write the next book” (especially if it's a series we’re invested in already: looking at you with side-eye there, George R.R. Martin!). 

But it's also great to get a bit of a peek behind the curtain at the what, why, where and how of those stories coming to life and their journey to publication. This blog is where you can find some of those peeks from our authors. 

Its also a place with resources about speculative fiction (sci-fi and fantasy) genres and sub-genres, writing, reading and that sort of things that bookish folk might find interesting.

For example:

• What sub-genres within sci-fi and fantasy are growing, and why we think that might be

• Why it might be you loved 'that last book' you read so much (and how can you find more books with that vibe)?

• What books from other authors and publishers we’ve read and loved, and why

Rest assured, writing here won't be taking away from 'writing that novel' any faster.

A lot of backround craftwork goes into a finished manuscript with a tight 'story'. We thought sharing some of the writing we do to explore and 'shape and colour' of the stories we publish might be interesting enough to share with fans here, too.
